ConnectTherapy™

ConnectTherapy™ helps us understand how different parts of the body are connected and affect one another. Instead of focusing only on the painful area, we assess your whole body to see how everything works together. For example, if you come in with knee pain, we will first look at how your knee is moving locally, then check how other parts of your body might be influencing your knee. For one person, the problem might stem from the foot, while for another, treating the foot could make things worse, and the thorax or pelvis may need attention. This thorough approach helps us find the true cause of your symptoms, creating a clear path to recovery without the guesswork.

Thoracic Ring Approach™

The Thoracic Ring Approach is a unique method for assessing and treating the rib cage. Your rib cage consists of 10 thoracic rings – each ring includes the left and right ribs, the spine, and the sternum – plus two levels of floating ribs that don’t form a full ring. We apply pressure to the side of your ribs instead of the back, which allows us to use the ribs as a lever to create more effective changes in your spine and thorax. Improving the function of your rib cage can change how your entire body feels and moves, and we always combine this approach with ConnectTherapy for the best results.

Dry Needling / IMS

Both dry needling and IMS involve the use of a fine, sterile needle to create a muscle contraction in a targeted muscle. No substances are injected – hence the term “dry” needle. We use dry needling to release specific muscle fibres that are contributing to your dysfunction. We identify which muscles would benefit from needling based on how they’re affecting your body’s overall movement and function, not based on trigger points or pain.

IMS, on the other hand, focuses on calming the nervous system by working through the muscles. The muscle contraction created by the needle sends signals to the nervous system, helping to reduce nerve overactivity and related pain. Both techniques are used in conjunction with ConnectTherapy™ to address the root causes of your symptoms.
